Cellgate Controlled Access Upgrade Info & FAQ

Website: https://www.stonegatefl.com/cellgate                Email: [email protected]
YES! Your vehicle windshield RFID sticker (transponder) will still work! You can test this with the resident gate closed. If it does not work, cut over to the visitor lane in the lane divider break. Then email your name, address, and transponder number from the back of the sticker to the address above.

YES! Your visitors can still get in! Visitors can tap Directory on the touchscreen, scroll or type your last name and tap your listing to initiate a call.
Video Call: Grant access by tapping "OPEN"
Voice Call: Grant access by pressing 9 or *

Install the cellgate app and create your password from the cellgate watchman registration email for video call access and to add repeat visitors or events (party with multiple visitors). Without the app, you will still receive voice calls. See more info and download users guide on our website https://www.stonegatefl.com/cellgate.

1. What is happening and why?
At the end of our 5 year contract with Envera, we decided to change our neighborhood access control system from an actively monitored system managed by a remote guard at a premium cost to a self-service callbox where visitors can call from a directory or use a virtual key for entry. This new system will give us quicker, more reliable visitor entry and backend control for GPI and the BOD to self-service.

2. How is Cellgate different from Envera?
Cellgate’s telephone entry system is less than half the annual cost of Envera. We expect to save at least $30,000 per year. The system is more consistent without depending on unreliable license plate readers or waiting for a remote guard to answer every call. However, there are no app notification options unless you allow your visitors to call you from the gate callbox using the Directory.
  • Direct Resident Control: With Cellgate, you directly manage your visitor access by generating and sending virtual keys, or by receiving calls from the gate and opening it remotely. You have more immediate control over your guest entry.
  • No Central Guard Station: Unlike systems that rely on a central guard or remote operator to screen every visitor, Cellgate puts the directory and entry control directly at the gate and in your hands via the app.
  • QR Code Convenience: The ability to send a QR Individual Key to visitors streamlines their entry, allowing for faster processing at the gate without needing to interact with a person or directory lookup.
  • Community Directory Emphasis: The system is designed around a self-service directory for visitors to look up residents and call them for entry.
  • App-Centric Management: Visitor management features are accessible directly from your smartphone via the Cellgate app.

 3. How do I get in from another car, Uber, friend, etc or if my sticker doesn’t work?
Option #1 - Generate a PIN Single Use Key from your phone and tell the driver.
Option #2 - Create yourself a QR Individual Key and save it to your phone wallet for future use.
Option #3 - Use the Directory to call yourself/household member to allow entry.

4. What neighborhood wide service providers will the HOA grant access to, so they will not call me from the callbox or need me to provide a virtual key?
  • Pasco County Fire Rescue
  • USPS
  • UPS
  • FedEx
  • District School Board Pasco County (School Buses)
  • Newspapers
  • Waste Connections
  • Amazon
  • Teco Gas
  • Duke Energy
  • Pasco County Utilities
  • Frontier

5. How do my visitors get in?
  • Directory: Visitors will often use an alphabetical search function on the CellGate kiosk at the gate. They can enter your last name (or a portion of it) to find your entry and call you to grant access.
  • Virtual Key: You will send your visitor a QR Individual Key, PIN Temporary Event Key (group or multiple entries) or PIN Single Use Key.  When your visitor arrives at the kiosk, they will either scan the QR code or enter the PIN code and their access will be verified.
  • Transponder: You may also elect to purchase additional transponders for permanent visitors such as family with the Gate Access Form.

6. What are Virtual Keys and how do I create and send them?
Virtual keys are a way for a visitor to be pre-authorized to enter the neighborhood without calling from the callbox directory. There are three kinds of keys:
  • QR Individual Keys are created for permanent visitors that allow unlimited visits to the neighborhood like friends and family.
  • PIN Temporary Event Keys are for a single event that allow unlimited visits for up to 7 days.
  • PIN Single Use Keys are for vendors and deliveries and can only be used one time.
For specific details on creating and sending virtual keys, please see the users guide downloadable from our website at: https://www.stonegatefl.com/cellgate.

7. What does my visitor do with the QR code?
When your visitor arrives at the gate, they will simply select the Guest QR Code option and hold their mobile device with the QR code displayed up to the camera built in at the top of the touchscreen. The reader will scan the code and grant them access.

8. My QR code isn't scanning at the gate. What should I do?
  • Placement: Raise the phone higher and closer to the camera at the top of the screen.
  • Hold steady: Hold the QR code steady and close to the reader for 2-3 seconds, but not touching it.
  • Check the screen brightness: Ensure your phone screen is bright enough.
  • Clean your screen: A smudged screen can interfere with scanning.
  • Hold steady: Hold the QR code steady and close to the reader, but not touching it.
  • Check validity: Ensure the QR code is still valid (not expired or a screenshot).
  • If problems persist, use the directory lookup option to call the resident.

 9. How do I receive App/Video Calls and Phone Calls?
Video Calls: When logged into the Cellgate app, you will receive a notification that looks like a video call from the front gate. Answer the call where you will see a video and hear the person at the gate. Tap open to allow entry.
Voice Call: If App calls are unavailable or not answered a voice call is made to any numbers set up in your callgroup - up to 3 can be called simultaneously. Callgroup setup at user.zapopen.com.
  • Upon answering, you will hear: “You have a visitor. Press 1 to be connected.”
  • Press 1 and speak to the visitor. Press * or 9 to open the gate or hang up to not allow access.

10. Why does my QR code say it was deactivated when I click the link it just created?
For Android phones, there was an activation issue in the app. Please update your cellgate app from the app store.

 11. How do I provide access for repeated service providers?
- For a very regular vendor that you know their schedule and trust to give unlimited access, we recommend creating an QR Individual Key. You can set the schedule for when access is allowed. For example, this may be a pool company, small landscaper or dog walker. Remember to remove this access when changing vendors.
- For a larger company and/or if the actual service provider changes, please have them use the directory to call for entry or create a PIN Key for appointments. This prevents every technician at the company from having unlimited access.

12. What if my credentials do not allow access (the proximity card for Clubhouse or the vehicle RFID sticker for gates)?
Please email a picture of the number on your credential with your name and address and it will be added to the cellgate system. If you are renting, please include a copy of your current lease.

13. How do I purchase more credentials?
Download the Gate Access Request Form for additional vehicle transponders. Download the form, fill out, copy your vehicle registration and mail with your check to GPI. Download the Pool/Clubhouse Card Request form, fill out and mail to GPI with your check.

14. How do I manage my directory listing and add multiple users to my household?
Log in to the cellgate portal in a web browser at user.zapopen.com. See the Resident User Guide for details. DO NOT log in to the cellgate app with the same email on more than one phone! This will prevent the notification from the gate when a visitor tries to video call. Create each household member with smart phone a QR Individual Key for 24/7 access, and if they also need to receive video calls or create their own keys, add them as another user on your account in the web portal.

If you did not receive a cellgate registration email, want to change your email address, add another directory listing, add missing credentials or for more questions, please send an email with your Stonegate address to [email protected].
